Amy Mooney – Nursery Manager

Amy has worked with the Forbury Group of Nurseries since May 2009. In 2014, she took a year away to travel and work in America as a Nanny, before returning to the company in May 2015.

Amy has spent much of her career at our sister setting, Forbury Gardens Day Nursery, where she completed her Level 3 qualification and progressed through a variety of roles. Over the years, Amy has worked as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Nurse, Third in Charge and Deputy Manager, before progressing to Nursery Manager of Waingels Gardens Day Nursery in August 2022.

Amy has extensive experience working with children across all age groups and has a strong knowledge of the EYFS and how this is implemented throughout the Nursery. Her role is varied, balancing the day-to-day management of the Nursery with spending time in the rooms alongside the children and staff team.

Amy is a Designated Safeguarding Lead and has a strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities. She also has extensive experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and has previously undertaken the role of SENDCO.

Amy is a mum to two young boys, both of whom have attended one of our settings. This has given her valuable insight into the Nursery experience from a parent’s perspective and a greater understanding of the importance of building trusting relationships with families and ensuring parents feel confident, supported and involved in their child’s care.

Alongside her Level 3 qualification, Amy has completed a wide range of additional training throughout her career and continues to develop her knowledge and skills to support the children, families and staff team at Waingels Gardens.
